Vote for your preference!

Ta-da! My very first poll ever, set up to find out what you would most like to receive as a Blog-anniversaire present when Letters From the Enlightenment turns one year old on June 30th. I will be picking two or more people, so feel free to pick more than one idea; or leave a completely new idea in a comment!

  2. Thanks for stopping by! It is a portrait of Mme Perregaux, who was the wife of a prominent banker, and was painted in 1789 (prior to the revolution) by Vigee Le Brun. Her outfit is one of those character costumes that one sees in portraiture from this time, supposedly very 17th-century Spanish inspired. The painter herself was very fond of this painting, and remarked that it was a very good likeness.
